Grok and the Realtime Approach · Lesson 2
Conversation Style and Boundaries
How Grok's tone differs and how to use or filter it.
A less "polished" style
Grok is noticeably less regulated than the mainstream. That's both a plus (fewer refusals) and a minus (sometimes the tone slides into provocation).
When it's useful
- Semi-serious discussions where you need an honest conversation.
- Brainstorming where cautious phrasing gets in the way.
- Topics where competitors give a "cautious" answer.
When Grok isn't the right choice
- Corporate assistants where reputation matters.
- Topics with medical / legal consequences.
- Educational scenarios for children / vulnerable audiences.
The system prompt saves you
If you use Grok via the API — set a clear style in the system prompt. Without it the assistant can drift off course.

What to do after this lesson
Compare Grok's and ChatGPT's answers to a sensitive question (not violating the rules). Note the difference in tone.

Common mistakes
What people get wrong
- They use Grok with the default style for corporate scenarios.
